Hi.

Welcome to my blog. Much like the rest of my life, it's still a work in progress, but you're very welcome to take a look around. I hope you like what you see and read. And if you don't... That's why the comments are disabled.

We still have to march for basic human rights in 2017

We still have to march for basic human rights in 2017

Saturday January 21, the day after the Presidential Inauguration Day, people marched around the world in the Women's March. It was a protest of the incoming Trump administration's rhetoric and proposed policies, and a protest of everybody who has felt empowered by him to be a terrible person, along with so much more.

Little social justice warriors that we are, Lia and I went to the gathering on Boston Common. It was by far the largest crowd I've ever seen in the city. Larger than when the Red Sox won the World Series. Larger than when the Patriots won the Super Bowl. Larger than any other rally I've seen in my years of living just across the street from the oldest public park in the country, in the state that gets the honour of calling itself "first" on a litany of progressive issues.

By most recent estimates, somewhere between 125,000 and 175,000 people showed up to support women's rights, LGBT rights, black rights, and every other social cause. You may think that we'd achieved basic human rights in America, but just a cursory glance at the news on any given day will show you any number of ways they're being violated, and inevitably by the Republican Party, now helmed by the abusive, assaulting, aggressive giant Cheeto.

Anyway, I got a couple of nice photos.
